FAQ

Are the dice balanced?

The short answer: Yes.

Happy Little Clouds - Dice Balanced FAQ - Charm the Senses

The long answer: Artisan dice are more balanced than your average commercial, factory dice. Many name brands are great for those with a lower budget, but the reality is that handcrafted dice get more attention to detail.

A lot of the concern of balance comes from some of the inclusions the makers put inside. Many artists create custom molds to cast all of their 3D inclusions from the same resin the dice are made of, in order to negate any sort of weighting.

When it comes to a purposefully weighted dice, the maker would put a stronger weight in one side to make the dice roll the same every time, or close to, either in favor or against. The only goal of my dice is to create a beautiful piece of artwork that makes you smile from the shelf or on the game table.

Why are dice so expensive?

Everything in my shop is priced based on time and materials. My time is valued at minimum wage, or higher, depending on my experience. My skills, regardless of day job or side business, are all valuable and I use them to pay my bills.

Custom Liquid Core Dice Set

I set the time for each product based on how long it actively takes me to make the item. In total, it takes me 3 days to make a single set of dice. Actively, it takes 6 hours. Most of that is sanding time. I have to sand every side of every die up to 6 times. I am always looking for ways to reduce that time, both for your sake and mine.

Dice come in a wide range of prices. My first sets all came in a single bag from Amazon for $10, and I love them dearly. Meanwhile I have my heart set to someday own another artist’s beautiful D20’s that go for $250. Art that price is a luxury, one that I hope we can all afford someday. Until then, I understand that not everyone can afford mine, and that’s okay. If you want to support my art in the meantime, I also make stickers for only a few dollars, and a like and follow on social media is free.

Shipping

Premade items will be shipped out within a week of your order, but likely earlier. This is all based on the number of packages I have to put together, and when my small town post office is open.

Lead times for items made to order will be noted in their listing, and could take up to 4 weeks to make. Custom orders will not be started until they are paid for and their custom form is submitted.

We have all seen longer shipping times since the beginning of the Pandemic. A reminder that this is a small business and your items will not get to you in 2 days. Please have patience and know that your item is well worth the wait.

I do not provide free shipping. I do this for your benefit. If I rolled the price of shipping into the items, all items would be at least $10 more and would increase the total price of your basket.

I do offer worldwide shipping, but shipping outside of the US can be quite expensive. I am working to reduce the cost. It is up to you if you are willing to pay the cost in the meantime.

Return Policy

Items cannot be returned simply if you no longer like them.

If an item comes damaged, email a photo to charmthesenses@gmail.com and I will issue a refund. I hope you will use this money to purchase a new item. Artisan dice are handmade and may have minor imperfections. These will not count towards a refund as all items are quality checked to meet our standards before listed.

If your item has not arrived when it was supposed to, I will do my best to find it with the shipping company. If it is truly lost, with proof of shipment, I will not issue a refund. I will provide a coupon if you would like to purchase a replacement. This is very rare and I hope never happens to either of us.

Now that we’ve talked about all that… Let’s get you back to the fun stuff!
